sculpted story vessels

 

Biblical story visually realized in baso-relief sculpture rising from the walls of a thrown clay vessel.  
 

Following a deep dive study in scripture, prayerful moments seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance, visualizing realizing biblical themes through the action of creative expression brings me a great sense of wholeness. In this portfolio, I hope to share a small sense of what my spiritual eyes have learned to see. 

 

Creating forms sutures to heal the fractures within my soul transversing this carnal realm.

 

The action of centering, pulling and shaping vessels on the wheel enabled me to dissolve anxiety built from stress and has motivated me to keep going. Visualizing biblical stories during personal Bible study I found the artist in me to surface.  In drawing and carving wood  I found the synthesis to depict them; ultimately sculpting these mental pictures into the clay.
